Cotton Futures Up 21 to 66 Points Early

Early morning cotton futures trading has prices 21 to 66 points higher to start the Thursday session. Old crop cotton futures were up 63 to 106 points yesterday. OI in July was reported at 100,685 contracts as of 4/20, with May participation down to only 5,207. New crop futures closed the session 51 to 63 points higher. The US dollar index ended the day weaker.

USDA’s 4/21 DSQ reported only 431 bales sold, the approximate MYTD cash sales were up to 1.336 million bales. The Cotlook A index was 90.80 cents/lb for 4/20 after dropping another 20 points. USDA’s AWP for cotton is 68.16 cents/lb, and will be updated tomorrow.

May 21 Cotton  closed at 84.83, up 106 points,

Jul 21 Cotton  closed at 86.23, up 106 points,

Dec 21 Cotton  closed at 83.69, up 63 points
