Cotton Keeps Rallying Alan Brugler - BRUG - Tue Feb 23, 4:36PM CST Tuesday trading left the old crop cotton 25 to 46 points higher at the close. New crop December ended the session 16 points higher to 86.75 cents. The dollar index futures traded at the lowest price since January 8. USDA’s Daily Spot Quotations report showed 1,448 bales sold via the 2/23 report. The Cotlook A index was another 20 points higher on Feb 22 to 95.60 cents. The week’s AWP for cotton is 73.13 cents/lb., in effect through Thursday. ICE certified stocks are still at 100,326 bales through 2/22. Mar 21 Cotton closed at 91.37, up 46 points, | May 21 Cotton closed at 92.67, up 26 points | Jul 21 Cotton closed at 93.33, up 25 points | Dec 21 Cotton closed at 86.75, up 16 points |
