Cotton Down Overnight

Cotton trading overnight has the board 15 to 58 points lower as we cruise into the daytime hours. Yesterday ended with cotton prices up 109 to 196 points, and near the day’s highs. Speaking of those highs, it was the 6th new life of contract (LOC) high for March of the last 9 sessions. New crop December also closed with triple digit gains, to 86.59 cents/lb.USDA’s Daily Spot Quotations report showed 3,605 bales sold on 2/22. The Cotlook A index was another 30 points higher to 95.40 cents for Feb 19. The week’s AWP for cotton is 73.13 cents/lb., in effect through Thursday. ICE certified stocks are still at 100,326 bales.
