Cotton Rally Continues

At the close on Tuesday, front month cotton futures pushed to prices not seen since August of 2018. Gains on the day were 85 to 94 points for old crop and 92 to 125 points for new crop. The dollar index was higher on the day. Below freezing temps extended down into Mexico overnight, delaying early cotton planting in the Rio Grande valley. The Cotlook A index was 80 points higher on Feb 15 at 93.80 cents/lb. The week’s new AWP for cotton is 70.32 cents/lb, up by 3.94 cents on the week.

Mar 21 Cotton closed at 88.12, up 85 points,
May 21 Cotton closed at 89.6, up 94 points
Jul 21 Cotton closed at 90.32, up 91 points
Dec 21 Cotton closed at 84.81, up 92 points
