Cotton Market Closes Higher Alan Brugler - BRUG - Wed Feb 03, 4:47PM CST At Wednesday’s closing bell the front month cotton futures were 21 to 30 points higher. New crop December contracts ended with a 20 point gain. Crude oil futures are also continuing their rally with another $1.19/bl gain on Wednesday. Tuesday cotton sales reported by the online cotton trading platform The Seam were 7,328 bales for an average gross price of 76.36 cents/lb. The daily Cotton Spot Quotations report showed 5,143 bales were sold on Wednesday with a national average price of 77.06 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index recovered 45 points to 86.90 cents/lb. The week’s AWP for cotton is 67.59 cents/lb, and will be updated after tomorrow’s close.
